Default Time for a bigger converter?

Times in sig. Cutting low 1.6 to high 1.6 60s, hook on most, spin on some, but in the 1.6 range. Making around 370rwhp or so, 4.11 gears. Trapping almost 117, but only going 11.90s. Traction isnt an issue, would I benefit from swapping to say, a 4200/4400 SuperStreeFighter or equivalent etc over my lowly 3000stall regular Streetfighter? I've been pondering how much there is to gain, my powerband does start to really pick up at around 4500 rpm.

Those are some good numbers there, but I don't see why your ET is so low. Get your car tuned, then make a decision on what to do. If your car still isn't moving any faster after the tune, then change to a 3800- 4200 converter depending on your application.

thoes are some really good times to be 'spinning some' I dont think you should go with a higher stall, mainly beause LT1s make good torque down low. Keep the stall and go with the tune

well I tell you what i had , bolts ons , stock heads and 216/220 cam with 342s out back with a tci 3800 converter not the 3500 one. I could cut high 1.5s with partial throttle launch due to small m/t 26 by 10 et tires and crappy track , no weight reduction except centerline wheels on a 1999 trans am ..3586 with me in it. I would run 11.80s all day in mid 80* temps at 112/113 mph .. Dynoed /342/380tq

As for gain , with 410s it may be tuff if you cant hook up , Im a big fan of the 342s in the gm cars especially on the street .
If i were in you shoes i would try a high stall and higher gear i think you Et would drop quite abit ..

I hear that a lot, but there is no difference in usable rpms between an LS1 and an LT1. Maybe on a stock motor. Certainly the tune is necessary... i'm sure the timing for low-mid is way off, but still, I'm i'm making the power up top, wouldnt I want a much bigger verter?

those 4.11 gears would love a fat cam and a 4400 stall converter
