Default Best trans?

looking for opinions from those who know:

Currently have a 2000 SS M6, looking for auto options. The car recently has been rebuilt to include a forged 408 capable of 1000 rwhp, Moser 9" rear (spool, 370 gear, 35 spline axles), BMR K member, upper and lower A arms, heavy duty drag pack, Hal/QA1 double adjustable shocks, and an ACPT carbon fiber drive shaft. The power adder is a two stage n20 set up, with a dry 1st stage and a DP second stage. Everything is built for up to a 1000 rwhp, and I intend to use it, as I did get 664rwhp out of the stock engine.

That is what is there, now about the trans. It's te stock T56 and will be done like dinner here very soon, and I have no intentions of having it repaired or upgraded when the inevitable occurs. I just emailed the fine folks at Speed Inc about their Th400 conversion package, so I hope to here from Tom soon.

Would really love to hear from the folks who have swapped from a T56 to a TH350 or TH400, but also want to hear from anyone who has one.

Thanks in advance-

Dan

are you going to drive on the street at all? if not i say stick with the 400 swap. if you are go with a 4l80e so you gain the overdrive.

Yes I plan on driving it on the street quite a bit.

I guess what I was hoping to find was feedback on the streetability of the TH400 and opinions on what converter would be best for this set up.

from RX's own gallery - the Z's Rossler TH400. manual valve bodys make for less streetability but are far from impossible. much more streetable than any straight cut manual tranny. but if you want a transbrake and come out of the hole, OMG its as good of a feeling as dumping the clutch.

second is a shot of it in the car complete.

http://www.rosslertrans.com/ - look to the full competition th400

nothing better and pretty reasonably priced. in most of the fast "heavier" cars on this site.

nothing better than a neil chance convertor. but you have probably heard that before A1 and TCT are right there as well but a bit less expensive.
