I need some help from the transmission GODS on here. My dad has a 2000 olds bravada with the 4.3 and an a4. It is a awd model. My question is why would the trans loose od (instantly and w/o warning) and everything else work fine. Did the od band go bad and nothing else. We have changed the fluid (the old didn't look or smell burnt) and the fluid level is fine. He did have to replace the transfer case on it b/c he blew a tire and the service station didn't have on the same size so they put two smaller ones in the front. About 2 miles down the road the awd kicked in and it made a big mess . But anyway does anybody know what would cause this other than internal parts maybe.

I'm sorry it's a 1997 sorry if this caused any confusion.
