Converter Help
Converter Help Here is my dyno graph on motor and 150 TNT. I started each run before 4k rpm. On nitrous it jumped up to 5500 and sat there for about 2 sec then accelerated from there. I'm willing to give up a little NA performance for better N20 60's. This converter is awful on the street and I would like something a little tighter. I have a th400, 12 bolt, midwest nitrous 4000 stall, 232/234 cam. I plan to run up to a 250 shot soon.
A proYank 3400 would drive a lot better and hold the 250 shot. The Pro Yank 3600 would be fine for 150 shot and give a better NA time than the 3400. It wlll be tighter than your 4000 in town too. You'll have to look at their website or contact them to see if they offer it for the TH400.
Since I started both runs before 4k rpms and it instantly slipped to 4600 na and 5400 on nitrous is this my correct stall point? Sorry this is my first auto and I'm converter dumb.
No that is roughly your shift extension. To measure stall speed, you need to punch it from a dead stop. Next time at the track when you have your slicks bolted up, launch in 2nd gear (I think 00s come with 2nd gear start). As soon as you mash it you'll see the rpms jump and hold steady for a second before starting to climb. That's your stall speed. If you use logging software (rpm and mph ) you'll see it pretty clearly.
