Fully automatic TH350?

Fully automatic TH350? I don't need a tranny yet, but I'm trying to plan ahead for the future. I'm looking for something that is completly automatic (never have to manual shift), that also uses the stock console (I want the car to look stock too). Would a TH350 with a vendors overdrive be able to work like that?
How does the vendors overdrive work? Could I just flip a switch and always have OD on, then just turn it off at the track? What ratio is the overdrive, and how much does it weigh?

the way i read it is that you can turn a switch one way and it will automatically turn OD on like a 4th gear. turn it the other way and you will use it as a gear splitter and hit a lever/switch after every gear.

Re: Fully automatic TH350? check with chuck at flp. he is making a lock up conveter setup for the turbo 400 in conjunction with precision industries.
might work out the same way as the gear vendors at a cheaper price.
i have installed B and M pro ratchet shifters and a
"quicksilver" shifter in a car with the stock console. they work out very well.
with a little looking i am sure you are capable of doing the same.

Re: Fully automatic TH350? Tell me about it, I just saw the price. I don't like the idea of 3400rpm @ 80mph either if I just do a TH350 and keep 3.23 gears. I guess I'd have to try to make a 200r4 work. Can this be setup to shift automatically?

Re: Fully automatic TH350? my TH400 is an Auto/Manual valve body (not full manual) you can adjust the vacuum modulator to where you want it to shift automatically, mine is set up for daily driving and if I want to get on it I manually shift...I like it this way kinda cake and eat it for me
My TH350 has been giving me issues with shifting. I've been looking at the overdrive gear option, but Geat Vendors prices are outrageous. For that, you could buy a 700R4 from eBay.
