4l80E? anybody see the article(forgot what magazine it was) on the 4l80E? I saw and read the article but i can't remember what the price was or if it was even given. what do you guys that have read the article think about the tranny from what you read?

1) HEAVY
2) Expensive
3) Don't believe factory electronics will control it
4) Not as strong as you might believe (I think this related mainly to the OD unit - and some of the new parts from the electric "conversion")
I don't really know anyone running one of thase, mainly because of #1 and #2 above - I know George baxter considered, but then ended up nixing the idea.

Re: 4l80E? ChrisB is right. The unit is more than heavy as hell and it will eat hp like no other. It would really slow you down over most other choices. It CAN be made very strong but it has to have a piggy back controller also. Not a good choice IMO.
