Good place in Houston to install TransGo shift kit?
Good place in Houston to install TransGo shift kit? Are there any places that would do the full install. I don't have one right now but I might get one soon and was wondering what the good places to install them would be at. I saw on MTI's site that they sell them even though they have a higher price than some other places but I'd like to have it installed and buy it at the same place if possible. Is MTI the only place or are there many more around here? I'd want a place that had done it before since I've read if they are installed correctly, the car will be faster.

Re: Good place in Houston to install TransGo shift kit? I know for sure that PMAC (now Sentry Automotive?) will install it correctly. You can contact them at (713)666-2616. As for the shift kit, it will definitely help for your part-throttle shifts. Unless you get your torque management removed via custom programming, the shift kit won't make you any quicker in the 1/4, and it may even slow you down some due to enhancing the torque management.

Re: Good place in Houston to install TransGo shift kit? From what I've been told MTI won't work on transmitions. They sent all transmitions out to Katy. They normally had a guy by the name Ross House do the trans for them.
Ross now works freelance...but is one of the best with anything that has to do with a transmition. You can get ahold of him by calling 713-690-3673. Ask for Ross House. chances are he wont be there but tell them what you want he they should put you in the right direction. They can also do the work for you there at that shop also.
Just say that Brad Wolverton sent you and it should get taken care of if you decide to go to Ross.
