Default VDO Vehicle speed sensor for TH350-400

Is anyone using a VDO speed sensor on there LS1 TH350/400 equipped cars?
P/N 340011.
Can this be used with factory wiring and PCM?
I notice it has 3 wires and the factory harness has 2 for VSS, I take it the 3rd is just an earth wire?

Good find. I was just about to dig into the rear abs lines to get a signal. I think this method will be a lot cleaner and easier. Only thing I could find is that it would work on a elec. controlled tranny with the OEM VSS. So, you may be correct that the third is simply a ground.

Yeah I was just going over it again, not much description on it and says its for electronic, maybe electronic speedo it means, so its no good for old school conversions then.
