Question Re tune needed when going to a higher stall

Hi everyone;

I have a Y3000 2.0 STR installed in my 01 Z28 coupled to 3.73:1 rearend gears. I have had the vehicle professionally dyno tuned for the TC change
(i.e. TM deleted, shift points adjusted etc). The vehicle runs wonderfully, however I am starting to want more stall.

If I replace the TC with a 3600 stall, 2.5 STR, would I need to have the vehicle re dyno tuned?, or would all the necessary adjustments been done with the initial dyno tune?

Thanks in advance.

You should be fine. I had my transmission shift firmness and shift points adjusted with a 3000 Stall. I upgraded to a 3600 stall and did not need to make any changes.

I went from the stocker to a Vigi3600 and did not need a tune. I also did a shift kit at the same time. I did however go back later and had my shift points adjusted. Most of the time its not necessary, but sometimes it is.

Get it installed and see how it works for you. You might decide you want to tweak it here and there, but I can't imagine you needing a dyno tune.

I would get it retuned if I were you, but dyno tuning is not needed. I would recommend tuning it on the street if you can.
