hey guys i have a question you might help out with. I am considering trading in my car for a manual. To me the manual seems so much faster then an auto but right now i have a 2002 pewter ss (SLP Optioned )Camaro and has 31,000 miles on it. In excellent shape. And i love the car but im confused please let me know your thoughts...

If you are after speed and 1/4 mile performance, an auto with a stall converter is the way to go. On an otherwise stock car, it is not uncommon to shave .5 or more in the quarter with only the addition of a good converter.


For quarter mile performance, Stalled Auto>Manual.

I've had both.....hard choice. I miss my manual so much sometimes, but I will be getting a 3600 TC soon. I am told I will change my mind faster than hell once I drive it with the bigger TC. With that car, I'd keep it. SLP Optioned, beautiful color. Keep it dude. Just get a big TC. Talk to the guys at Fudde Racing. They had a lot of info for me and their price can't be beat. You'll be happy you did.

If you're drag racing, stick w/the auto. The M6 is fun to drive, but it's hard on parts, your wallet, and its less consistent than an auto. These are the reasons I'm strongly considering the switch to an A4 car.

Like others suggested, get a good converter and do some research on other trans mods you should do(shift kit, PCM tuning - not sure what's out there yet since I've only been following the M6 stuff) and you'll be happy.
