Default Debating on what I should do for a converter...

I currently have a Vigilante 2800. I want something with a higher stall. I am going to have a new engine with increased displacement and I want a converter that is going to use this new horsepower efficiently at the track.

I was thinking of getting it restalled to a 3600.

THen I started thinking of maybe getting a new converter and selling the one I currently have...

If I did go with a new converter, what would be a good choice since I plan on spraying also...

Thanks in advance...

Check out YANK... I have nothing but good things to say about what the ST3500 did for my lightly modified SS.

I believe Raughammer runs a YANK TP4400... but I'm not 100% on that... he seemed to have good luck with that making a 10.86 pass on it.

I'd wait untill you get your new motor man. Your 2800 is going to be stalling higher under the new power, how much higher all depends on how much more power you go with. I'd wait untill you get the motor, or at least untill you finalize your plans for it, then you can get a converter that matches your combo.

I thought you said you already had the new motor... nevermind, re-reading, I agree with crazyquik, wait until you have the new motor in.

Well I was planning on getting a 382 All bore built but the person that was going to build gave me a really good deal on a 427 stroker.

So I plan on getting the 427 stroker built hopefully by April. It takes him about 2-3 months to build an engine on the side since he is so busy building engines for alot of the local speed shops in the Houston area.

So that yall know what kind of engine I am getting built, what would be a good converter??? <img src="images/icons/grin.gif" border="0"> <img src="images/icons/grin.gif" border="0"> <img src="images/icons/grin.gif" border="0">

Hey Carlos.
With out knowing more info...and plans for the car.
The ProYank 3600 Extreme. Will keep you in your power range.

Call me sometimes and we can talk it more... but you should be pretty happy with the above converter. Anything looser and the motor will rap out... WAY too fast. You have seen Cato's dyno run..yes?

I would do the motor first.

My Yank TP-E4400 ended up flashing around 5300 after I did the ARE 418ci. The torque of the motor affects the stall speed.

If you did a bigger converter you might end up having to change it again.
