Default Shift Points for new converter?

Here is what I have them at now with the HPP3
1-2 +2
2-3 +2
3-4 +0 with the redline at 6300 rpm

I just got the SY4000 in, and was curious as to what yout guys think?
I've been seeing a lot of posts about new converters hitting the limiter...
all comments are appreciated

thanks!

You really need to have a scanner/autotap to define exactly what rpm it is currently shifting. This is the only real way to know how high you can go. Is it bumping the rev limiter now? I have the ST3500 and I'm at 1-2=2, 2-3=1 and 3-4=0 with rev limiter @ 6300, but I know others that are at +3,+2& +1 @6300. Sometimes the TM will fool you into thinking you've bumped the rev limiter. The auto tap will eliminate all question.Been there done that. Hope this helps.

This question is asked a LOT, and you're not going to be able to find the best shift points according to what someone else has them set at. You really need to first see where the car makes peak HP at on the dyno and how far it carries it out. This will put you closer to where they need to be, and then you'll be able to fine-tune them at the track. When you're at the track, be sure to only change one shift point at a time so you know if it's helping or hurting. Once you get the 1-2 shift point set, then you can work on the 2-3 shift point. Also be sure to factor in any variance in 60' times that you may see.

Trevor's right. Shiftpoints are based upon HP. Use the same strategy with your SY 4000 as you did before. (huge gearing drops in the A4 eliminate most of the hard work) Your shift points may or may not change as a result of the converter. Drive it and see.
