Question 4L60E 3-4 clutch pack

Hey fella's and ladies...perhaps,
I'm new to this so please bear with me. My question is in regards to a 4L60E rebuild I'm attempting. I got everything pulled apart, cleaned, labeled ect.. and I'm in the process of installing the 3-4 clutch pack in the input housing and low and behold it appears that I'm missing a part (3-4 "stepped" apply plate)...or am I. The manual I'm using (ATSG) is calling for this apply plate to be installed after the 3-4 clutch retainer ring. I don't recall seeing this "stepped" apply plate during disassembly or perhaps I wasn't as good at keeping my ___ together as I thought I was. Can anyone out there tell me if there was some sort of mod to this transmission where the plate was removed or is now a combination retainer/apply plate? The thing seems to have vanished into thin air. If in fact I did lose the damm thing, can someone tell me where i can order one?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

the stepped apply plate(653) is pretty thick.
try putting all the parts in
see if there is space left over between the retaining ring(656) and the 3-4 backing plate(655)

The 4L60E does not use the stepped steel in the 3-4 clutch pack.
