Trans Temp Discrepencies
I decided to log the transmission temperature using HPT. The difference between the Autometer Temp Gauge and the HPT Readout is 25* with the HPT being higher. I am sure it is due to the placement of the Autometer Sender. Right now, I have it installed in the pressure test port. Where is the PCM getting the transmission temperature? Where would be a better place to install the Autometer Sender to get an accurate reading for my gauge?

I *think* the most accurate spot is in the line right after it leaves the tranny going to the tranny cooler....or at least that's what I was told.
I'd be interested to see what differences other people are seeing in the Autometer gauges vs. software reading for trans temp and where there autometer sensor is mounted.

hey listen up
Hey hpt gets it temp from the manifold block inside the trans...on the valve body....above the filter...The best place to position the temp sensor IS on the top line coming out of the tranny....hope this helps...Dave

My friend hooked up "Auto Tap" and it read the same temperature as my digital Cyberdine gauge with the sending unit in the pressure port. It could be the accuracy of the gauge
