Default Finally got the 80e in my formula

Just wanted to post so that people know that it is possible to do with the stock computer. I got a custom tune from ken at ls1edit that just replaced the tranny software, but maintained the f-body tune. I got it out on the road and the grip that it has in third gear is amazing. Still need to tweak shift speed settings to adjust for different gearing, but so far so good. I would like to thank all the sponsors that helped me out with the swap like yank, speartech and tci. Here is a list of the things I needed to get it done.

4L80e locally blue printed and built up -2300
yank transmission brace for f body -200
tci flexplate -200
vigilante 5 disc converter -1000
speartech wiring adapter from 60e-80e -165
lokar 4L80e dip stick -68
strange engineering chromoly driveshaft -530
misc. fittings, bolts, and hoses -80

My friend still has a lot of 80e swap parts and a built tranny if anyone is interested. Tabs have already been shaved, 90 degree cooler fittings installed, and the only thing I had to clearance for was the main wiring harness. PM me for additional info if interested.

Here are some pics. As far as a write up there was just a lot of little things that I did. Tranny had alreay had the tabs shaved off and fit in first try without having to clearance. I reused my stock rubber 4l60e mount with yanks crossmember. I cut the stock a4 cooler hardlines right bellow where they turn to go up into the tranny. I used rubber hose and some custom fittings to connect those to the transmission. Converter had to be spaced with two washers on each bolt to go in correctly. The converter was intended to bolt up to a stock 6.0L flexplate with gm 2001+ flexplate spacer, but I went with a tci flexplate instead. I used 10mm by 1.5 thread by 25mm long bolts to get it in. The transmission bolts straight to the block with 6 bolts. I left off the bottom cover for cooling. The drive shaft was a custom made piece from strange, and the converter is a 5 disc vigilante 3400 stall. My exhaust was reworked from an x-pipe to a h-pipe to accomodate the new trannt mount brace. What year do you have? How much was that mount? I've looked on Yank's website, but can't locate it the crossmember.

I got a billit yoke with solid 1350 joints that is rated for over 1200 hp. It is a beautiful shaft and I am not disappointed in the price. Thanks for the heads up but with these options I think the price was pretty good.
