torque converter for daily driver?

What's an RSA?</strong><hr></blockquote>
The RSA's are the crappy lowest-level stock tire your car receives from the factory(with 2.73 gears I think). In other words, they are TERRIBLE for traction(even with the stock converter). Just get the Nitto DR's with the Vigilante 2800 and your car will be a monster down-low.

They are Goodyear Eagle 245/50/ZR 16's. I don't think they are bottom of the line, but they are definitely not sticky. They also seem to flex a bit much on the turns. That could be the car, though. I'm going to install DD subframes next.
The speedo goes to 155, which I presume means the stock tires are rated for that speed.
How do the Nitto DR's handle on the twisties? Do I want the P245/50/R16 96V Nittos?
The Nitto drag radials do quite well in the twisties when the pressure is kept up around 28 - 30 lbs.
Sure, if you like driving around town in 3rd gear to avoid setting the P0757 SES code that the ST3500 seems to be in love with.
Dave, don't forget a trans cooler to go with any converter you install. Very inexpensive insurance!

Why do you drive around in 4th around town anyway? There is no point to it. On automatics, you actually don't need 4th until you're doing 55mph+. Just a thought.

As a side note, at least here in Texas, starting May, 2002 an SES light will cause you to fail emissions testing. The LS1Edit currently does not have the capability to turn off these tranny codes. I have Emailed the makers of the LS1Edit, and asked them to consider adding those codes to the list that can be deactivated. Otherwise, these tranny codes could become an issue depending on where you live and how picky they are about the SES codes and emissions testing.

<strong>Umm, for the naah sayers. If the same converter throws codes only in 2001 & up f-bodies and not older ones... is it the converters fault?</strong><hr></blockquote>
John, I love my ST3500 but in all honesty, I never hear any of the Vig 3200 owners having the same issue with the same code. Now that may be because there are few or no 01/02 LS1's with a Vig 3200 (I doubt it though) OR the Yank is designed in such a way that it maximizes performance in every way so much so that it is on the edge of incompatibility with some of the newer LS1's programming. I personally don't mind because of the great performance and I'm used to having high performance parts cause some loss in driveability or comfort. Hopefully LS1 Edit will be capable of adjusting for the shift solenoid problem.
Just some thoughts.

I should know by the end of next week, what Ed wright can do <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">
I honestly think the solenoid problem is a line pressure issue. Since I installed the Yank tranny I haven't had it again.
All of my issues are to with TM, and I think the line pressure issue (soleniod) is directly related to TM.
