get the super streetfighter 3500 from tci.
youll need a shift kit and oil cooler.
install plus a converter tune will be about $500

You don't need a shift kit unless you want one, many people drive without them. They just make it feel a little tighter at partial throttle.

You can get them installed for $300 at the right place, as for the tune its always a good idea but not necessary.

Not at all. I have had the SSF3500 for almost 3 years with 2.73's and just recently went to 3.73's. With just the headers and stall I ran a 12.5. Since then a cam and 3.73's. The SSF3500 will wake your car up and make it hard to want to stay out of the gas.

the tci 3500 is what i have, it is great for stop races, and rolls, the gas milage is still good and highway is better than stock, i have 2.73's as well, i have a trans cooler and it is necessary, get a big one, and a shift kit is also not necessary i know many people who dont have em they arent neccesary, i dont have one either, no need for it. if u have any questions pm me, the install usually runs around 300ish. i will answer any questions u have via pm

4mula where did u pull a converter tune for 500 bucks from this is missinformation, whoever tried to tell u 500 bucks for a converter tune...they were trying to stick it to you

installing the t/c and a verter tune was 500 total.
350 for the install, 150 for the tune.
speedinc did the work and thats their standard prices.

trans cooler kit
trans filter
atf fluid(around 9 qts)

oh, and the converter....
i got a used tci ssf 4200 stall off a member here and cleaned it out good with mineral spirits and couldn't be happier with it...
i didn't use a shift kit, no tune, 3.73 gears, and it's fine.....of course it could use a tune for partial throttle shifts and whatnot but it drives/idles fine.....

Also you may want to get a 3600/2.5str to compensate for the 2.73 gears. I was going to get a 3600 but decided with the 3500 due to always wet weather around here, and while 100rpm isnt much its better than nothing for protection against being *** end forwards.

If you are looking for a low priced TC i'd recommend Fuddle Racing, they have a group purchase going on right now for $359 which is a price you will not find anyone matching.

Good luck with whatever you decide

Economical converter=TCI. Fuddle is unproven thus far.
Anyone remember when Midwest was recommended for a good/cheap converter?

Well they have excellent customer service, and their return policy and other policies are clearly printed out on their website.

The first thing alone is more than most TC companies offer, and if you had any problems with the converter itself afterwards they could get in major legal trouble for not upholding their warranty.

That is not to say they are truely a great company, I can't prove that nor can I prove their TCs are awesome, I'm just going off things I already know.

As for proving them, as soon as mine gets shipped it will be installed and I'll be happy to give feedback

just install it yourself....I just did mine it was pretty easy altho i have the exhaust off, i don;t know if that is in the way. but if it is not just unblot the torque arm and drive shaft, drop the tranny and swap it. i would never pay someone 300 to do that lol!
