Default torque converter

Hey guys I have the ssf3500 when racing the car I think I did to much of a burn out and the torque converter kind of starting slipping at this point I thought that it was my tranny that was gone (again). What do I have to do when this happens, I let the torque converter cool down and then when going home it got all the gears and with no problem. So my question is if this happens do I need to change anything like the oil or anything in the tranny. Checked the oil and it looked clean as it can be!!!

How was it slipping, exactly? Sounds like it might be something in the tranny to me......
If the trans fluid is in great condition there probably isn't anything for you to do.

Well it only started to slip a little bit, like when I took of the tranny didnt want to go into 2nd. Plus my take-off was shitty. But like I said I let the torque converter cool down and when I was going home punched it and the car hit all the gears hard and they all went in right.

Do you have a trans temp gauge? If so, how hot was it?

I drove the car to work today and it picked up all the gears good and everything went in fine. Do you think I still have a problem or it was just something else.

Maybe it was just way too hot? I don't know. Mine started messing up by way of a flared 2-3 shift. At first it seemed to only be bad when the tranny was hot (200* and above) but it got to the point where it would not go 2-3 at WOT no matter what. Then a little while later the converter refused to lock......

Do I have to worry about this at all, the tranny has about 6500 miles on it and the torque converter and shift kit has about 300 miles on it. About shift points what should I change it too, dont have a cam or heads. Should I even change the shift points? Thanks for all your help man, this site rocks!!!!!

Keep your tranny cool. Limit 4-2 WOT downshifts. Don't go WOT in overdrive.
You souldn't have/want to raise the shift points for the stock cam. It tends to peak around 5800 rpm so a 6k-6.2k shift is good.

All I know is that you shouldn't use synthetic. Something about our transmissions, they wear out faster with synthetic.
I remember reading it's because of organic clutch material and how synthetic trans fluids affect their frictional properties.
