Default Header or transmission prob HELP

Just had a set of headers installed in my T/A with an auto transmission. The problem is the car wont lock into park. You can place it in the park position but the car will still roll forward and backward. All the other gears work. Another thing i noticed is that when i place it form park to reverse i dont hear the clicking sound when it goes into gear. Also when i take off from a stopping point i can hear aloud rattling popping noise from underneath the car .. Can anyone give me any suggestions to what the prob might be Thanks.....

Need to get under there and check the transmission linkage. Sounds like something isn't hooked up right.

BTW, have you had the tranny out recently? If the cable got pulled down with the tranny, it can break just under the console, and cause simular problems to what you describe.
