Default restalling a stock converter

can you restall a stock converter up to 2800? i just bought this restalled converter and the owner sayes it constantly flashes around 2800 with his 4.8, i was thinking since i had a 5.3 it would flash about the same rpms or a little more thanks for the input Gene

I think it could happen if the right stator and turbine combination are used. IMO buy a used verter with the stall you desire and have it cut open and checked out. That way you can dump that huge 11" anchor.
