Did the transmission have this problem before the Shift kit install?

I am having the same 2 to 3 exact problem, but just in D.

WOT in D and it will hit the limiter and wont change.
WOT in OD and it will do it fine.

I dont do burnouts, for some reason my tires like being cold, they hook better. Or at least my ETs are lower.

Well, what tires are you running? Based on your sig I'll assume you have standard street tires, in which case all you are suppose to do is spin them a few times to clean off debris.

my car does the same thing, sort of. I just recently had the trans rebuilt, so it shouldnt be a mechanical problem, and it seems to be more computer oriented. At the top of 2nd in D, if i go WOT it is as if the car is confused about where to shift to, but after a 2nd it will kick 2nd off and bang out 3rd no problem. Same thing?

On the 2-3 problem..

I agree is computer oriented because when i was topping 2nd in D, I moved the stick to OD and it shifted to 3rd.

The tranny however felt a lot more hot than anything before. I just bought the car a month ago, maybe they lied about a pre-sale service..

gotta check that..

I thought I had the problem fixed, but after a few passes last night it turns out that I'm still having the same problem a lot of others are having. If I do not do a burn out in 1st or 2nd the car will shift just fine. Or if I get the car to kick down to second it will shift even a little early~5600. The problem is when I do a burn out before I launch the car, everytime I do this the car hangs in the top of 2nd gear and hits the rev limiter. There has got to be a solution to this, I just have no idea what it could be. I was hoping that cablebandit or Rock-On could chime in here and possibly shed some light on this subject.

Ok I'll chime in with my two cents....

99 T/A with stock TQ stock Tune stock everything..... has the same 2-3 shift problem. Never tried the D at WOT. I always seem to be manually shifting. Anyways, I noticed when the car is cool that the 2-3 is quick and firm. But once everything warmed up it was having problems. I thought ok after I install a new trans pan and cooler I'll have new fluids and this should fix the problem. Nope. 1-2 shifts really hard, but 2-3 never changed. Car has 74k miles on it so I'm thinking its just worn clutch pacs.?

Probably worn clutch packs. (but I am NOT a tranny knowledgable guy)

Do not manually shift your transmission.

The more I think about this if it shifts with lifting off the gas just a little it still shifts just fine. Its not like its trying to shift and its slipping its not even trying. Just bounces off of the rev limiter. Humm still not sold on the mechanical issue.

I really don't thin it is a mechanical issue either. Hell my tranny does it and it was rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago. It's all in the damn things head (PCM).

I think I'm going to just start looking at a new Evil or TCI Transmission and hope to just be done with it.
