Help ASAP Could Nos damage a stall?
Is this true or not? I did found out that the guy im getting the stall from he said he has gone threw a transmission. But thats cause he was useing a 150 shot of nos also, and didnt beef up the trany.
My Q, am I safe to purchase the stall or not?

Could nos damage the vig 3600 stall? Im thinking about getting this stall, but I just found out that the stall was used in conjuction w/ nos. My dad (We all know how some dads are) said that when used w/ nos will brake valves or something in the stall.

Joe

Well it depends on how much he is talking about for his stall."My paa always said never to buy a used stall" unless of course you know the guy or plan on getting it reworked.
The new Vigs. do have Anti-Ballooning plates, so I'd imagine it would be fine.
Plus, ask the seller if it still has it's free upgrade. If so, you could have it "refreshed" for free.
NOS is much more likely to have worn the stock tranny which then can release junk into the converter. Flushing the converter will not get out junk imbedded in the clutches.
If you have the converter "refreshed" that's ok. Don't confuse it with restalling. PI is not under any obligation to put new clutches in, or make repairs to converters being restalled. From what I've seen and heard, a restalling does not include the use of new parts.
Buying from a bolt-on NA car is much safer. NOS and/or the use of a lock-up switch increase the probability of problems, although the converter may be just fine. There are enough non-spray PI units that come on the market that I would wait.
I've never had problems with the converter...it still is good.
Reason why I broke the trasmission is because I was running 150 shot on the tranny and launching out of the hole at the track putting 1.53 60' and running 11.20@121...it is a stock tranny....
