Default Transbrake wiring

I know this should be simple but something doesn't seem right with the button wiring. I have a Hurst pistol grip quarter stick with the button built in. It only has 1 red and 1 black wire. It seems on most switches you there is 2 12v terminals (1 to the 12v souce and the other to the accessorie.) and a ground. The t-brake has a red and black wire also. Is the black wire on the shifter not really a ground, just the other side of the connection with you push the button? Whats the correct way to wire this up?

On the shifter, one wire goes to a 12+V source, the other wire goes to the TB. On the TB, one wire goes to the shifter and the other goes to ground. You don't need any more wires, unless you plan to use a light indicator, but that may defeat your TB voltage. The color of the wires doesn't matter, just the connection.

Thanks. Thats what I thought. The one side of the switch being black confused me.
