Th400: Trans brake questions

Th400: Trans brake questions I recently got a th400 with RMVB and tb, can I use the tb to launch at the track if I dont have a 2 step??if so whats the procedure?? I have a 4200 converter..Also how much does the tb help then just stalling the car up??

The T/B is the only way to get consistent, hard launches at the track.
Make sure its hooked up correctly. After pre-stage and stage, press your T/B button. Slam the gas pedal to the floor. The T/B will lock the car at its present spot. This will stall the tranny up to about 4200 rmps. Release on the last yellow, and hold on. 1st to 2nd will come up really quick. If you decide to spray (nitrous), you can hook up the TB to cut off the nitrous until you release the button. NOW THAT IS A HELL OF A RIDE

It doesn't create high pressure, the transbrake just engages first gear and reverse against each other (via a solenoid hooked up to a power source from a button on the shifter). The transmission will not produce a lot of pressure to blow the lines off. If you want to feel secure, use threaded lines instead. We used -6 AN high temp/pressure lines to replace our OE metal lines. Over a year of abuse from the transbrake and still no leaks.
