Car doesn't shift smooth with AC on ?

Car doesn't shift smooth with AC on ? ok, here's the thing... If I leave the air on, the tranny won't shift smoothly[sticks or jerks between 1 - 2 shift, 2 - 3 - 4 are fine ] 
But, if the air is off [completely off], it shifts just fine
what gives ? help!
