Default TCI SSF3500 will not lock

Having an issue with my transmission....it shifts good, doesn't slip, doesn't do anything strange...but it stopped locking the convertor....I have misfires disabled below 2600rpm and some shift point tuning....could I have lost a lock up solenoid? or could it be the convertor?....I am leaning away from the convertor because the transmission doesn't even act like it wants to lock it up.....yesterday it was locking up qiuckly and very solidly....then on the way home from work it never even tried to lock up.....

I have no SES lights or anything...the car is running and driving great...just no lock-up....

help please.....

Probably the lock up solenoid. Thats what happened to mine, got it fixed, but now its out again . Before a tune, it would lock up around 50 mph, now I have it adjusted where it would lock up at 35 mph. When I had it fixed, the converter was inspected, and was fine. Solenoid was fixed, and everything was back to normal, until now, though its probably due to the trans leak I have right now. Its cheap to replace. You can pick up a new one I believe for around $50. No big deal.

Default lock up

I can feel mine lock (at temp in OD) at steady part throttle, about 39 MPH. Exhaust note will change along with RPMs too.

I dunno....I checked for codes today..none..but it didn't get 2 ignition cycles it needs to set the code...so I'm gonna try that tomorrow and see if a code sets....I am beginning to worry about the convertor clutch now....the funny thing is that the car drives like it always has...just without lockup....

Thanks for the help folks....still checking on a few other things.....will update tomorrow...

Figured out the problem this morning....lock-up clutch is bad....the PCM tries to lock it and I could feel it trying to hold but it wouldn't....looks like I'll be on the phone with TCI....this sucks it has only been in the car since febuary and has about 7K miles on it....

Default Please help!!!

I have the same stall , and I am having the same NON lock up problem! . I first got my tranny rebuilt (STAGE 2), then just got the stall rebuilt w/ a new clutch, brazed, and spaced.I was really hoping that it would start locking up after having both of thses thing done, but NO DICE! . I guess the only other thing would be the LOCKUP SOLENOID. What do you guys think???

Thanks in advance!

it could be the lock-up solenoid....if it is the PCM will have a code stored for the failure and it will turn an SES light on....mine didn't have any codes in it so the solenoids were working normally....my clutch just failed so it wouldn't lock....get the car scanned...g/l....

I have scanned it and I get a TCC code.I'm guessing that has to do with the converter. Am I right?

if I'm not mistaken it should be in the front right corner of the transmission valve body....someone correct me if I am wrong please.....you'll have to drop the tranny pan so grab a new filter and replace it too while your there....shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to get it out, change the filter and refill the fluid.....it'll be a messy job.....

when your converter locks does it drop the RPM's and make kinda a putting sound on your exhaust, like driving 40mphs in 6th gear for manuals?
