Stall, Shift Kit and Cooler Install
Stall, Shift Kit and Cooler Install My car has the 3.23 gears stock. And I plan to get maybe a 3500 stall, a Transgo shift kit and a cooler. Does this sound right for a car, it's not my daily driver but I don't want it to be rediculous on gas or driving feal.
Also I've read that the FTRA is placed exactly where a tranny cooler should go, so what would be my options here.
Well, my main question is, being that I am far from a mechanic nor do I know very much about cars, how much of this could i do myself. Money doesn't flow very easily into my banmk account so I have to be as cheap as possible. I'm the kinda guy who picks stuff up and learns pretty fast so I have confidencve in myself that I could learn, but I don't have acces to a lift and whatnot.

The cooler is easy. Even the shift kit I'm sure you could handle. You said yourself, that you don't know much, so leave the pulling of the tranny to someone who does.

So I should give the cooler and transgo a shot, but the converter is way out of my league. I mean I do want to learn this stuff. And I do enjoy working on my car after my neighbors come outside because they think I'm screaming yelling at and beating a woman. 
FWIW, I've got a cammed LS1 with a 4000 stall and I still get over 20mpg at the pump. If you dont lay into it too much or do only city driving it wont kill you on gas. You can do it all yourself, but if you're not comfortable, just bite the bullet and let a good shop put it in. Looks like you've got a good setup. Mount the trans cooler dope-style and you're set.
