Default Converter won't stall enough.

I just put a Yank PT4400 in along with a freshly rebuilt 4L60E. With slicks on the car I can't get it to brake stall above 2800rpm before it breaks the tires loose. The car takes off from a stop like its a 2800 converter. My st3500 yank converter was looser and would stall more. Thing is...I know the guy I bought the converter from and his car was making less power and he could stall it to almost 3900 on foot brake. COuld it be something to do with my tranny?

That's about normal for a PT4400 I think. My PT4200 brake stalls to about 2800-2900 before pushing the car. It flashes up to 4100-4300 on the launch though. I think your tranny is fine. His may have been out of whack though

You may lose a slight amount of 60ft in comparison to the ST3500, but you'll see an improvement in ET and MPH with the PT4400. It's a good converter.

Now take it out to the track!
