Lock up convertor ??

Lock up convertor ?? I just purchased a 00 z28. Currently Im in korea and will be heading to germany next year. Goals for the car is to run 12.9+ and hit 175 on the autobahn. Question is that Im going to to the normaly mods to give it some more grunt and want to know if I get a convertor, 3000+ pending on cam ans such with teh lock up will I lose any top end do to the loose convertor.
