Installing stall
Installing stall I have a 2800 vig, sitting in my garage, i'm wondering if i should try it in my garage w/out a lift, or take it to a shop and have them do it. Also is it a really big pain in the *** to do it w/out a lift.
not that big fo a pain if you can get a second set of hands. you can use a regular floor jack to hold and lower the tranny. get someone to hold the tranny while you pull the converter off
I did mine recently by myself... Used 4 jackstands (up pretty high) and I bought a nice floor jack and strapped it onto the tranny when it was time to pull her down.
Had to use my factory jack as well. When i pulled the tranny out, the nose sagged forward. Got the factory jack and put it on the floor jack and under the front of the tranny and evened it out so i could pop it back on.
Took longer to take all the other crap off then to drop the tranny and put it back on..
Get 3 feet of extensions and some swivals sockets and you are good to go. Feel like a million bucks when you do it yourself.
