building a stronger 4l60?
thanks--
5 pinion rear planet.
Z-pack 3/4 clutches.
Upgraded band, everyone has their favorite. I like the Raybestos or Alto
Billet 2nd servo, billet OD servo if you plan on doing any WOT runs into 4th.
Transgo HP reprogramming kit
Transgo spacer plate
Double cage forward input sprag
Good external trans cooler.
That's a pretty hot setup, nice to see the GenIII motors getting into some old school rides

One thing to consider is that will probably be quite a bit heavier than your typical F-body or Vette, so 450-500hp will actually be a little tougher on the trans than it would be in a lighter car. The cooler is a must for a sled that size! Shorter gears will also help, 3.23 or higher.
All in all the upgrades I suggested are around $500.
If you're looking to save a few bucks on the setup, stick with the sunshell, cooler, Transgo spacer plate, sprag, and billet 2nd servo. That should run you around $250.
Of course this is just my opinion. Transmissions are like oil, radar detectors, and tool brands. Everyone has their favorites. There are other setups that will work, but I know for a fact that the above setup, minus the Z-pack and sprag, has worked excellent for me for over a year. I havn't sprayed this trans yet but I literally beat the living hell out of my car on a daily basis, and the trans hasn't even let out a sigh.
Check these guys out for parts, they have been great to me in the past: http://www.transmissioncenter.net/highperf700r4.htm
Good luck with your project and be sure to come back and post pics when you're done, or even in progress.
Pete
