QUICK: I need a write up on dropping a A4 from a 2000!
I dont have a write up on it but if you have any mechanical apptitude at all then it is pretty straight forward. Some key points to remember though are:
1. Disconnect battery. Remove starter (or just move out of way) to get at TC bolts. Use 8mm allen wrench to remove.
2. Fluid lines have small lock rings under plastic keepers. Slide keeper back, use scribe to remove lock ring, pull out line.
3. Dipstick tube WILL NOT come all the way out of tranny until you drop tranny. Make sure that you remove the 15mm bolt on the passenger side of block that holds the tube in place (it'll give you the play you need)
4. Have fun!!
It only took my buddy and I about 5 hours with limited tools on a garage floor to drop, swap converters and reinstall. It was our first time on an newer F body. Piece of cake. If you have problems do a search or drop me an email. Good Luck.
