Default Th400 : short tailshaft...swap it?

On a th400 with a short tailshaft.... what all is involved in swapping it out for the longer tailshaft? Is it worth it? What sort of driveshaft am I going to need to fit the short tailshaft spline setup? Any idea what length it needs to be with the short tailshaft?

This is the tranny in question:

You can always get one custom made for your application. You just need to put it in and take some measurements. If you went through a large driveshat shop they may already have something for your application. Just need to make some phone calls.

Just got a rossler th400 and it has the short tail on it and i got a shaft made at 44 3/4 " with the slip yoke bottomed out from center of the holes and to the bolt surface on the pinion yolk. Remember to tell whoever makes your shaft that the slip yolk was bottomed out and measured from center of the slip holes to the bolt surface of the pinion yolk so they can make it perfect size for movement when you hit bumps. (for instance shaft is not 44 3/4" in length) This may be different on other cars but this was on a 99 trans am with the stock rear

Does the stock driveshaft yoke fit the th400 output shaft? If not, where did you get one to set up measurements?
