loud banging when going into gear.

loud banging when going into gear. Okay. i pray to god it's not my trans (again. i had a new one put in just 13 months ago).
But, here is my problem!
When start my car, the idle is a lil high (around 1k. but i blame the faulty o2 for that...noproblem there), and when i put the car in gear, be it drive or reverse, there is this huge bang, and the car violently rocks forward or back.
it's driving me crazy. and scaring the **** out of me.
could it be my trans? mabey the drive shaft is loose?
argh.

sounds like your tranny mount.. get under your car and look to see if its' there... or if its' broken... it's a rubber mount that supports the rear of the tranny.. also if your bolts weren't installed correctly they may have worked loose and therefore you get the same result...
Could be the long tube headers banging the underside of the car. It's very common. Mine did it. Flattening out the underside of the body on mine fixed it. Heavy duty tranny mount on mine also helped but I could always feel the vibration through the tranny afterwards.
