Default 4l60e in a 74 nova

what do i need to to fit in a 4l60e into a 74 nova. it will be behind my 4.8l. i plan to use the painless wire harness. for eng and tranny.
thanks for any insight i tried a search but came up short who knows i probably type something in wrong and missed it somewhere

You'll need a four speed automatic shifter, probably need to shorten the driveshaft depending on what transmission you have now and where you position the new engine. The transmission cross member will need to be moved back.
Depending on the year of the 4L60E you might need to adapt the nova's original 5/16 cooler lines to the new 10mm.
You'll need to wire a neutral safety switch and back up light switch into the shifter.

is there a floor shifter like a old b&m ratchet or such that will work?

Yes. B&M has the megashifter and quick silver in four speed versions. These shifters over ten years old might only be three speed (thats if you have an old one laying around).
