Default Fuddle VS Yank

Hey guys im lookin into gettin a new converter here in a few weeks, right now i have a custom one that i got with my new tranny..........the guy that made it says its 28-32 stall rate, and i have no idea what the str is. I know ive gaind off of it tho. So here is what ive been lookin into Fuddle 3800 with a 2.8 str, or a yank 3600. I dunno wich is better for the $$. If anyone has and success storys thats great. Yanks SS3600 has an STR of 2.5 compared with the 2.8 of the Fuddle. I believe that there is a big price difference though.

Default yank

I splurged and got a Yank, fuddle was new and I felt that Yank and Vig were the only converters on the market that you knew exactly what stall and STR that you were truely getting because they test them. Also Vig and Yank had a good track record. I got the SS3200 and I'm extremely happy with it and would buy it again. Dave at Yank was extremely helpful also and that goes along way. It seems like John is very helpful also and he seems to be doing well and stands behind his product so if you're short on cash I would trust him.

The bad thing about searching on here is that you're going to come across horror stories of people who got bad converters from Yank, Vig or TCI. A bad converter happens from time to time but when you consider the number of converters that these manufacturers produce, the percentage of converters that go bad are pretty small. The point is to take horror stories with a grain of salt.

Either way.....aftermarket converters kick ***

Got a fuddle 3800/2.2, but i havent put it in yet because I need to rebuild the tranny first, but for the price I would go with a fuddle. Nothing against Yanks.

I think both of those converters are to big for your car. Give both companies a call and see which they would recomend for your setup. Also, if you are thinking of overstalling it now due to mods planned for down the road I wouldn't suggest that. Fuddle offers a kickass exchange program for there converters...maybe you should look into that.

no one is saying that yank doesn't build a great converter. we all know that they do. they just aren't the best bang for the buck, and their customer service leaves something to be desired. I'll stick with Fuddle. they build a great converter at a reasonable price. and you get exceptional customer service....even after the sale.

Actually, I won't see as my car weighs about 1,000 lbs. less than an f-body & 300 to 400 less than a Z06. Thought maybe you had some good information about the differences. Yank is more expensive & I am really interested in how & why they out perform others if this is the case.

From your post I gather that a Yank accelerates better than the competition. Can anyone else confirm this & if so how? Is there a design concept difference? Thanks

Now that I think about this topic a little more noone can really answer this question, it's going to be an only time will tell kinda thing. Shure performance can be compared right away, but we need to wait untill people have 1000's of street driven miles and plenty of 1/4 mi passes with them. We know Yank has that going for them, so we'll have to wait a bit to get the true story from Fuddle..........

dont try to compare companys. both have their niche. call both up and figure out which one you are more comfortable with.

i have had both. i love both convertors. i can tell you the gap b.w the difference has drastically shrunk b/w yank and their competitors.
