my buddy is getting his tranny pulled and rebuilding it with blue clutches and getting upgraded servos and sprags... and my question is what is the difference of having someone you know building that works and a tranny shop and someone like rossler, or rockontransmissions build it?

From what I've read it would be better to have rossler or FLP, etc. someone who deals with 4l60e tranny's all the time do it. I've rarely heard anything good about a local tranny shop doing it and the customer being happy. If you're stock then a local shop probably is o.k. I know the first time anything goes on my tranny I'm getting an FLP or probuilt, etc. It will cost more but people say it's worth it. Just my take on things.
