Im wanting to change to a th400 turbo with a 4500 stall with a 411gear. Do u need to change the flywheel, and i know u have to change the crossmember but what about the torque arm. Where do i get the crossmember and will a 4l60e dipstick tube work or what type works.

I am waiting on my TH350 now and asked about these ?s already.
--Yes you will need a 98 only flexplate, or aftermarket. 98 has dual pattern.
--Yes you will need a crossmember, Yank, and I think a couple others make them. You can get it with and w/o the Torque Arm mount.
--Yes you will need a dipstick. Madman has a dipstick that fits and so does Lokar (36" model).
--Yes you will need a different TC. Everybody and their brother makes them.
--Yes your speedo will not work unless you A) do the Wheels Speed Sensor tap to VSS, or B) get a reluctor ring package and alter the tune to read the right counts.

Hope this helps. Search in this section, use Conversion, TH350, TH400 and you should get plenty of info.

best and cheapest way is to get a crossmember from bmr or yank that relocates your torque arm mount from the transmission down to the crossmember. Thats what i just did and it saves you having to get another torque arm.

You can get the crossmember and bushing from here http://www.400raptor.com/?OVRAW=th40...OVMTC=standard

$66.00 for crossmember and $37.00 for bushing to raise transmission to correct height.
