TC Question
When people say a "stall" or "stall converter" what they are referring to is the torque converter. People just call it that because the converter has a rated stall speed. You will want the torque converter, shift kit, transmission cooler and sticky tires. Subframe connectors would be a good idea at this time as well.
Again, search. There is a ton of information on this site.
Basically a shift kit can be installed to firm up the shifts and make improvements to help the transmission last longer. The firm shifts are what you feel.
A high stall torque converter tends to make the shifts feel softer on a stock transmission, so people use shift kits to get the shift feel back.
You can use one without the other.
You will also need a way to change stuff in your vehicles computer (tuning) with either/both.
