I was wondering if there are any tricks aside from a transgo kit that will help a 4l80e survive behind an 800rwhp motor. I'm having the tranny built by a guy who builds crazy performance 200r4s and 4l60e automatics all the time, but he has never done a performance 4l80e so I was wondering if there was anything that I should warn him about or suggest to him. Thanks a lot.

 

The first 3 gears and clutch packs in a 4L80E are the same that are in a TH400... so anything that would work for a TH400 should work for a 4L80E.

Find someone who has built 4L80E transmissions before,your transmission is only as good as the builder.I killed 3 4L80Es before Chuck at FLT built me a good one.
