Default Lockup coverter (multi plate) problems

HI, Firstly I live in Aus, Fitted a locally built 3600 HI stall with imported Precision ( think) multiplate clutch pack (To handle future FI) the problem I have lost heaps of rwkw and more than.3 and 4 MPH down the quater compared to the same brand 3600 with std clutch. I know the extra plates add Weight , But on the Dyno it appears to be slipping, flatlineing the graph, and only 215 rwkw, but set it to lock up at 80mph it gets back up to 270 rwkw, but shows a bumpy graph showing signs of slip till lockup,

Q...Should I try a different Tranny fluid, I just use the std GM-dextron.
Q... Should I look at Importing a Lighter more efficent Yank or similar ??
Thanks in advance
