Default Trans Trouble

hey guys i just got my stock 97 a4 rebuilt, and i put it in, but heres the problem, the car doesnt want to move, i can get it to go when i press the gas more than nessicary, also, reverse is the same way. what is wrong?? what shoudl i do? i feel like i dont have enough trans fluid in, but ive already put in 5 1/2 quarts. any one know what the problem is?

one more thing, i read that the torqe converter is supposed to have like 4 quarts of fluid in it itself, but i couldnt get more than one to fit in, could this be the problem?

check your fluid again. If the tranny was rebuilt then it will take alot more the 51/2 quarts. If i remember correctly it takes about 10 quarts if the converter is also close to empty.

when i had mine rebuild a a while back with an empty verter.. it took a case...12 quarts.. your doin damage to a fresh tranny if your driving it like this with only 5 1\2 quarts in it..
