Default How much for TC install

How's $225 for a TC install, +$65, for a Shift kit install.
This guys a backyard mechanic and doesnt like doing transmission coolers for some reason, he said he'd rather r&r my tranny twice than have to do the cooler?

That's a good R&R price, and cheap for the shift kit if it's Transgo. If it is, make sure he knows his Transgo stuff - it can easily take 3 hours for a knowledgeable guy.

I don't think he's ever done a Transgo shift kit. He didnt seem too versed in it. He's old school, he was saying that he could just drill holes through the separator plate to give me more firmness. He owned his own Tranny shop for 15yrs.

How was the R&R, was it relatively easy, or did you have to fight it, my guy was saying that on some cars he's done the y-pipe could be a pain, and it would take longer, costing me more money....

The bellhousing bolts can be a bitch to get to, but if you have the right tools, it's a piece of cake. If he wants to drill holes to increase shift firmness, I'd recommend taking it elsewhere for the shift kit.

Tranny cooler takes a whole 20 minutes to install...
