Default B&M ratchet shifter, unratchetable?

I have a B&M floor shifter in my Jeep and would like to be able to shift from 1st to reverse quickly w/ out having to ratchet. Possible?

The shifter came with the truck that my 6.0 was in so I figured I'd just use it, not sure if it's gonna work for rock-crawling though.

I didn't get any directions for the shifter so if this is a dumb question, I apologize in advance.

Thanks,
Glenn

I believe all you'd have to do is remove the little roller thingy that catches on the notches.
