Default What exactly is a helicoil?

Hey guys, talked to Hurst about a shifter and they said that I'd have to place a helicoil in my stock shifter to get their shifter to work properly? What exactly are they talking about?

Thanks, nice write-up. I'm just trying to firgure out how this would help with the installation of a shifter? I guess you might need a larger hole for the new shifter to fit in there properly.

if you buy the helicoil kit it will have a tap in it, and the instructions will say what size drill you will need.

do you want to put a Hurst **** on the stock shifter or the stock **** on a hurst shifter ??? The pistol grip **** from the Hurst wagon thing?

I'm wanting to do the same thing they did in the Hurst wagon. The Hurst **** on the stock shifter.
