Which Yank??????
Hi guys, I have made up my mind , I want a Yank.
But which one??? They have 5 that are close.
My wife's Firehawk went 12.97@106 stock with
a 1.98 60 ft.
I want to pick up 3-4 solid tenths without hurting
the drivability and losing track mph.
I am leaning toward the STLTH Thruster 2800 or
Torque Thruster 2800?????
What's up???
I will have Nittos installed next week.
I will eventually spray car with 75 dry shot
about once every few months. later on.....
These things are so expensive, I only want to
do it once.
Then there are the 2.5 or 3.0 STR concerns???
I am guessing that one simply hits the tires harder????
thanks guys??????
I am stressing, bigtime. <img border="0" alt="[judgement]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" />

At a minimum, I would choose the Stealth Thruster 3200. It will be very difficult to tell from stock until you put your foot in it. An even better, but more expensive choice would be the Pro Yank 3400 (not the Extreme). Either of these converters are what GM should have put in the F-Bodies from the factory.
Don't sweat the high Stall Torque Ratios...they only make the driveability better. By the way, I am currently running the Truck version of the Stealth Thruster 3200 in my 2001 Tahoe. It rocks!

THe TT2800 3.0 will feel very tight but needs Nittos. or you spin on the street with a moderate launch from a dead stop. It is a better converter IMO than the stealth 3200 because of better midrange.
I'm not sure what your other choices were (you mention 5 but discuss only 2), but a Yank 3000 would probably be my first choice. Its a better match to 3.23 for street & strip use.
