I'm am just starting to mod my car, it's been completely stock up until now. I was just wondering, I have decided on the Yank Stealth Thruster 3000. i don't need or want something real aggressive, but I definitely want an improvement, so I think this one would be pretty good (Do you agree? If not, why not?). Anyway, if I get this and have some bolt-ons, will I need to get tranny cooler? Or is this thing not hard enough on it that I won't need a new cooler?

A transmisison cooler should be used on a stock converter. The answer is yes to the cooler. The B&M 24,000 GVW Cooler is an excellent choice and comes with all necessary hardware. I had a Yank TT3000 and it was a great TC and made the car more fun to drive. The Yank ST3000 should be a good choice. It will be a mild converter that won't be loose as a goose.

 

A cooler is a great purchase, high temps will help kill an automatic.

A trans cooler should be one of your first mods, it is cheap and will help give your trans a much longer life.

 

I agree with all above. Plumb it in on the return side of the radiator cooler. The radiator will cool it to engine temp and then the air-to-air cooler will cool it further down. The water-to-air cools it much faster than the air-to-air but you'll want trans temps as cool as possible. Some coolers even come with a temperature bypass.
