To answer all the questions that are repeated over and over

A ******* STALLED, WELL BUILT 4L80E WILL LOWER YOUR 60ft TIMES, 1/4 TIMES, etc.

In a standard you dump the clutch
In a stalled auto the computer dumps the clutch
In a standard you are using a mans skills to change gears (which can be very good shifts)
But in an auto you are using a computer to shift.

In my full manual auto I am not using the computer to shift but it has taken all the **** up shift possibilities outta the race. I tap the shifter forward, thats all. I have not been to the track and do not know much about the 60ft, but I do not have to change to 2nd gear until well over 50-60mph if that gives you an idea of the ridiculous initial pull.

I think I remember someone saying the 4l80 is 50 lbs more than the 4l60, but don't quote me on that.

Sounds about right - i can lift a 700r4 onto the bench, but I can barely drag the 4l80e across the floor.

DeltaT did the swap and I think he's a reliable source. He says the 4l80 is 78 lbs heavier than the 4l60.
