Default tq conv ?

please forgive me if this has been asked 100's times befor but i couldnt find it in search:
im fixing to rebuild my 4l60e in my 99 w/ all the usuall upgraded parts
while its out im going to put a stall convertor in there, not much very mild mabey like 2800 - 3200 area. the car is my driver i sometimes take to the track just for kicks.
my question is ive had a few people tell me i will have to get the tranny reprogrammed to do a stall convertor is that true? if so whats the highest stall you can go w/ w/out reprogramming?
thanks in advance

for optimal performance, yes. you definitly have to turn torque management off though

3400 is as high as you can go without the VCM thinking the tranny is slipping. I did a 3200 and no codes at all here.
