Default Fluid mixing

I am planning on dropping the pan and changing the oil/gasket and filter. Can I mix synthetic trans fluid with the regualr stuff?

Don't bother. Just use Dexron III and it will work just fine.

From what I understand, the synthetic stuff is too slippery for our transmissions. I just use the Valvoline Dexron III, and be done with it.

Synthetic Dexron III can be mixed with non-synthetic Dexron III.

But, why change only half of your trans. fluid....?

See this: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....1&postcount=10

I've been using Mobil 1 synthetic Dexron III for the last 45K miles and have had no problems; non-synth D3 is still good fluid; each to his own.

I just use nonsynthetic valvoline also. The synthetic burned up my clutches too quickly.
